Food and a Movie

Unfortunately, we had to cancel this evening because we did not receive a large enough response. Never fear! We’ll be coming up with other events soon to allow us to spend some time together safely.

As you all know, this year has not been a typical one. Here at CKA, we are doing our best to continue our traditions safely and reasonably.  To that end, we still want to get members together for a movie on the 24th of December. While we can’t do a Chinese buffet this year, we can see a movie together where food is available to purchase.

At 6:30 PM on December 24th, we will be watching The Croods: A New Age at AMC Dine-In Theater at Grapevine Mills mall. (3150 Grapevine Mills Pkwy, Grapevine, TX 76051). CKA will be renting out the theater.  In order to maintain a safe environment, each theater will only allow 20 people.   We cannot put a theater “on hold” while we determine how many theaters we need.  There is also no guarantee on the number of theaters we can reserve.

Our plan is to is to get a theater for every 20 people that sign up (as long as theaters are still available). In order to try and manage this, we have put these rules in place:

  1. This year’s movie night is only open to members and their immediate families since CKA is renting the theaters.
  2. Please *do not* sign up until you are sure you can attend.   CKA cannot get a refund once we have rented the theater.
  3. We will rent a theater once we reach the 20 person threshold and continue to rent another theater each time we fill the previous 20 and get at least 10 more people requesting seats.
  4. The sign up will close at midnight on December 21st.  If you are not signed up, you cannot attend. We cannot make any exceptions to this rule.
  5. Each family will be responsible for their own food and drink purchases.

We will send a confirmation email to everyone who has signed up on December 22nd confirming we have a seat for you. Seats will be allocated on a 1st signed up basis if we run out of seats.

We apologize for all the restrictions this year, but we are still hopeful this can turn out to be a great event and another opportunity for us to maintain a small amount of normalcy in these strange times.
