Continuing education for post-Confirmation students and adults is offered on a variety of topics in our Adult Education program.

American Scripture Project

American Scripture Project

American Scripture Project invites us to engage together with some of our country’s most historic writings in order to wrestle with what it means to be an American — and to be Jewish — in the 21st century.

Using the methods of Torah study, at each session, we examine a seminal American text and unearth the meaning of the words, elevate their implications, and wrestle with the contradictions posed, allowing us each to derive our own meaning.

American Scriptures will inspire us and reteach us how to discover narratives that unify us as a community of Americans.

This project is free for all members of Congregation Kol Ami. There is a $50 registration fee for non-members.  Click here to register now.

Intro to Judaism

Introduction to Judaism

Looking to do some adult learning in the coming school year?
Check out Introduction to Judaism at Congregation Kol Ami.

Judaism is an evolving religious civilization. Learn the fundamentals of Jewish thought and practice; 3000 years in 10 weeks. Judaism is not a conversionary religion, so this is informational, not recruitment. This course is perfect for the curious of all backgrounds: those from different faith, interfaith couples, or even Jews looking for an adult-level refresher.

Registration is closed for our current session. However, you can use this link for more information and to sign up to be notified when the next course begins.

Torah ‘n Tefilah

A few things merit the word “classic” – Beethoven, the Ford Mustang, and Coke, for example. But in the annals of Jewish learning, Torah ‘n Tefilah stands alone as the “classic experience.” Combining worship, Torah study, and a lively bull-session, our Saturday morning informal worship is the place to be, whether you are an adult questioner, a B’nai Mitzvah candidate, an earnest seeker, a Hebrew student, or just Gary Jacobs. Need I say more?

Saturdays 10:00 – 11:45 AM (except on B’nai Mitzvah weekends)
