Lag B’Omer Shabbat
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel this event due to weather. Please find all the details here or clicking the image of the fire in the rain below:
We are extremely excited to announce that we are going to hold a special shabbat service at CKA for Lag B’Omer this year. On Friday night, April 30, at 7:00 PM we will gather outside in the parking lot for this special event. Since we are holding this very active event outdoors, we will not be broadcasting live services this one Friday.
We will have a shortened service lead by our amazingly talented musical team. Afterward, we have fun activities planned to celebrate the holiday with the family. We will have a fire going in the parking lot, we’ll roast some s’mores, and, most importantly, we will be conducting a color war for the religious school students and other children. (And any parents/children at heart that want to join in as well.)
If you are planning on participating in the color war, please be sure to wear old clothes and shoes. While most of the chalk should wash out of everything, we cannot guarantee that your clothes won’t be stained. (Follow these instructions for preservation of the items if you want to wear a white t-shirt and keep it with its new “decorations” to remember the evening.)
If the weather decides not to cooperate, we will hold a normal service indoors and delay the color war until Sunday, May 2nd – the last day of Religious School. If we do delay, the kids will be able to come to the synagogue and celebrate outdoors the last day of classes with this special event.
