Winter Weather and Building Update
We hope this message finds you and your families warm, safe, and healthy during this week of extreme cold and power outages.
Unfortunately, we did have a pipe break in the education side of CKA and have water damage in part of the building. We do not know the full extent of the damage but have already been in contact with both our insurance company and a restoration services company. Right now, it appears the damage is limited to the classrooms primarily, but we must again stress we do not know the full extent of the damage. What is important is the Torahs are safe, dry, and being properly cared for by Rabbi.
We ask that you please do not come to the building until such time as we know it is safe. Bob and Rabbi will be working remotely as well. You may still reach them via phone or email.
What this means for the weekend of February 19th – 21st events:
- Virtual services conducted by Rabbi; no “in-person” attendance
- No Saturday service
- No Religious School
We understand this is upsetting news to receive in a week that has already been filled with issues for so many of our congregants. The important takeaways are the building is still standing, and the Torahs are safe. We will update you as soon as we have more information about the damage and how to conduct ongoing services.
