Many thanks for your many messages of concern. The short answer to today’s weirdness is apparently Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
A very unpleasant but manageable condition. After a little rest and a rehabilitation regime should put it right. Sorry for a too exciting Rosh Hashanah.
