Welcome to Congregation Kol Ami!

Event Cancelled

The preplanning meeting with Dallas Jewish Funerals for this Sunday, May 18,  has been cancelled due to lack of interest. If you are interested and were not able to sign up for this one, we will be getting a date for another event in the future. We will update the congregation of when that will occur as soon as we have the information. Thank you for your understanding.

The Congregation Kol Ami Office will be closed from May 20 – 26, 2025. Bob will be out of town until the 24th. It will also be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day. Bob will be monitoring email and voicemail periodically and will respond as quickly as possible for emergencies. Otherwise, he will follow-up with you upon his return to the office on Tuesday, May 27th.

Services and all other events will occur normally.

Teach the Shoah

May 24, 2025 – 6:30 PM

Come join Deborah Fripp for a celebration of Teach the Shoah’s CKA storytellers. Cathy Polakoff, Greg Eftimie, Joel Loeb, Rowan (Rebecca) Fripp, and Violet Neff-Helms will tell stories of people who experienced the Holocaust. Deborah will hold a conversation with Dr. Mehak Burza, of the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies at UTD, about the role of storytelling in Holocaust education.

The evening will begin with Havdalah and end with an Oneg celebration of our joint community.

Teach the Shoah is a nonprofit Holocaust education organization founded at CKA in 2018 by Deborah Fripp and Violet Neff-Helms.

Our learning session, Tikkun Leil Shavuot, is coming up on June 1, 2025 at 7:30 PM. Please click here to get all of the details and RSVP for our annual event exploring Torah and Jewish learning.

Volunteers Make a Difference

As we get ready to start our 2025/2026 year, we need a little help from you for our congregation. One of the easiest things that you can do to help is volunteer your time by participating on our board. We have the following positions where we could really use your help:
Secretary
VP of Membership
VP of Member Support
VP of Tikkun Olam

In addition to the board positions, you could also help out with Cafe Kol Ami!

The outgoing members would be glad to share the ins & outs of the positions. Please reach out to Steve Ducar or Steve Dubner by June 6th prior to our annual meeting on June 8th to let us know of your interest.

The Mitzvah Magic Capital Project is underway from now until the end of the Fiscal Year on June 30th. Please click the link or the image to get more information and help Congregation Kol Ami with important building repairs and keeping our religious home operating the best it can!
